What is the role?

The growth of enfinium and the increasing complexity of the group’s financial and commodity risk management arrangements has created the opportunity for a new role as Tax Manager. The Tax Manager will report to the Group Reporting Manager and be responsible for group tax compliance and reporting.  

As a key member of the group finance function the Tax manager will participate in the planning and management of the group financing arrangements, communicating closely with site, treasury and accounting roles.

What you will be doing?

  • Tax Compliance Ownership: Take full ownership of the tax compliance process for the group, ensuring that all tax-related obligations are met accurately and on time.
  • Advisor and HMRC Relationship: Establish and manage a strong relationship with tax advisors and HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) to facilitate effective communication and collaboration in resolving tax-related matters.
  • Corporate Tax Compliance Management: Efficiently manage the corporate tax compliance process, from data gathering to final submission. Implement and maintain appropriate processes and internal controls to support the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) certification requirements.
  • Quarterly Tax Installments: Take responsibility for the quarterly tax installment process, including the timely and accurate payment of electricity generating levies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Tax Accounting Oversight: Oversee the tax accounting process, covering activities from provisioning to presentation in shareholder and statutory reporting. This includes planning, reviewing, and posting tax journals for corporation tax and group relief balances. Additionally, provide support in certain aspects of group accounting workload management during quarter-end periods.
  • Tax Development Monitoring: Continuously monitor developments in tax laws and regulations relevant to the business. Identify opportunities for R&D tax credits and other investment credits that support the group’s decarbonization goals.
  • Group Treasury Advice: Provide expert advice to the group treasury regarding tax matters related to the group’s capital structure. This includes assessing the impact of corporate interest restrictions and risk management mechanisms, such as financial and commodity derivatives, on the organization’s tax position and overall financial strategyTop of Form

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified CTA or AATII with 3yrs+ PQE
  • Experience in a corporate tax matters for a large business.
  • Highly proficient in the use of integrated IT solutions, ERP and Excel reporting skills.

  • Proven experience in technical accounting and writing.
  • Hands-on, self-motivated individual with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
