We have ambitious plans to transform from an energy-from-waste business today into a carbon removals business tomorrow.

Our planned £200m investment into carbon capture and storage at Parc Adfer will be the first step in this journey, allowing us to decarbonise North Wales’s residual waste, generate carbon negative electricity, and make Parc Adfer the largest carbon removals project in Wales.

Parc Adfer is a combined heat and power facility that processes up to 232,000 tonnes of residual waste. enfinium operate the facility over a 25-year period as Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with support from the Welsh Government to serve the five local authorities that make up the North Wales Residual Waste Treatment Partnership. These are Conwy County Borough Council, Denbighshire County Council, Flintshire County Council, Gwynedd Council and the Isle of Anglesey County Council. The facility produces enough energy to power more than 45,000 UK homes and businesses.
