As part of the enfinium community funding programme, we support a range of local registered charities, schools, places of learning, and non-profit organisations. Below are some recent examples from our Parc Adfer facility in Deeside, North Wales.
As part of our Parc Adfer community funding, we were able to support the “Sustainable Futures” or “Dyfodol Cynaliadwy” exhibit alongside local group DangerPoint.
The exhibit is designed to educate young children on sustainability fundamentals, including introducing them to the concepts of reduce, reuse and recycle, and why they matter. The design of the interactive educational exhibit was inspired by the DangerPoint team’s visit to enfinium’s own educational visitor centre, which aims to promote an understanding of the waste hierarchy.
We are very excited that we could update and improve our Sustainable Futures exhibit thanks to enfinium’s funding. The new displays provide a fun and engaging educational experience for visitors to learn about the importance of sustainable living and the role they can play in building a sustainable future. We are thrilled to have such an exciting addition to our visitor centre for the local community to enjoy.”
BeePresent are a local charity committed to improving young people’s wellbeing and resilience in Deeside.
Mindfulness is proven to reduce anxiety, depression and increase emotional regulation and focus. This helps young people lead happier, more connected lives, to be calmer and kinder. We were pleased to offer £2,000 to BeePresent to help deliver a range of courses on mindfulness to young people aged 7-11 in local Deeside primary schools.
We are proud that all four of our facilities rank within the top ten operational energy from waste facilities in the UK, for overall net carbon benefit for every tonne of waste processed.
