enfinium, a leading UK energy from waste operator, today highlights the impact of its partnership with Street League, a UK charity that supports young people aged 16 to 30 to overcome barriers and move into employment, education and training. As enfinium’s Charity of the Year in 2025, the company provided £29,000 to support Street League’s work, alongside volunteering, mentoring and fundraising activities.
Street League operates across 40 areas where unemployment is high, in 12 major cities, combining sport with employability training to help young people develop the confidence, skills and qualifications needed to progress into positive destinations.
Through enfinium’s support, 94 young people were able to enrol on a Street League Academy programme, participating in sports sessions designed to build teamwork, resilience and broader employable skills. Of the participants, 48 progressed into further opportunities, including 29 moving into employment, 16 entering education and 3 beginning a training course. In addition, 8 young people achieved a Customer Service qualification and 20 gained a Functional Skills qualification in Maths and/or English.
Alongside the financial support provided by the business, enfinium colleagues volunteered their time to deliver workshops at Street League academies in London, Leeds and Birmingham, sharing industry insights, career advice and practical guidance on entering the workplace. The company also hosted a World of Work Day at its Parc Adfer energy from waste facility in Deeside, giving young people the opportunity to experience a live operational environment and meet colleagues working across a range of roles.
The Street League partnership forms part of enfinium’s wider commitment to supporting the communities where it operates. Through its Community Benefit Funding programme, enfinium has supported a wide range of environmental, health and community initiatives. Last year the company provided more than £175,000 to local projects. In 2026, enfinium has been providing more than £185,000 through six Community Benefit Funds, continuing to invest in projects that strengthen local communities and deliver lasting social and environmental benefits.
