enfinium, a leading UK energy from waste operator, has today announced the signing of a new 10-year fuel supply agreement with A1 Recycling and Renewables NW Ltd, a regional waste management company based in Manchester.
Under the agreement, A1 Recycling and Renewables will supply unrecyclable waste from its materials recovery facility in Greater Manchester to enfinium’s Ferrybridge and Skelton Grange energy from waste facilities in West Yorkshire. The agreement commences in October 2026.
The agreement further strengthens the existing relationship between enfinium and A1 Recycling and Renewables, with both businesses expecting the partnership to grow further in the future.
The new agreement will strengthen enfinium’s long-term fuel supply, supporting the safe and efficient management of unrecyclable waste, avoiding climate-damaging landfill and enabling the continued generation of reliable, homegrown energy. Across its UK fleet, enfinium diverts around 2.7 million tonnes of waste from landfill each year, generating enough electricity to power approximately 600,000 homes.
Wayne Robertson, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer at enfinium, said: “We are pleased to begin this new partnership with A1 Recycling and Renewables. This long-term agreement will provide a reliable outlet for unrecyclable waste from Greater Manchester while supporting the continued generation of homegrown energy at our facilities in West Yorkshire. We look forward to building on the agreement and exploring further opportunities to work together in the future.”
Simon Ince, Managing Director of A1 Recycling and Renewables NW Ltd, said: “We are delighted to have secured this long-term agreement with enfinium, building on our already established working relationship. Having reliable and established energy from waste partners is essential to our operations, and this agreement provides us with the confidence to continue developing our business and supporting our customers. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with enfinium over the coming years.”
The agreement follows enfinium’s recent fuel supply agreement with REMONDIS UK to supply unrecyclable waste to its Ferrybridge 1 and 2 and Skelton Grange facilities, further strengthening the company’s long-term fuel supply in West Yorkshire.

About enfinium
enfinium is a leading UK energy from waste operator with five operational sites in the UK, in West Yorkshire, Kent and Flintshire, and one in construction. enfinium diverts 2.7 million tonnes of unrecyclable waste from climate-damaging landfill, putting it to good use by turning it into home grown energy, enough to power 600,000 UK homes. enfinium’s ambition is to transform its facilities into local ‘decarbonisation hubs’ powered by the millions of tonnes of unrecyclable waste the UK will produce for decades to come. Using existing energy from waste infrastructure, enfinium could contribute to heat networks, produce electrolytic hydrogen, or use carbon capture technology to provide durable, high quality carbon removals which will be critical for the UK to achieve net zero by 2050.
