West Yorkshire, United Kingdom (August 29, 2023) – enfinium is pleased to announce that Chief Operating Officer, Dr Jane Atkinson CBE, has been appointed to the West Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board where she will work with partners across the public and private sectors with the goal of stimulating growth that will create jobs and prosperity across the region.
Dr Atkinson said:
“I am delighted to have been appointed to the West Yorkshire LEP Board where I am looking forward to assisting in unlocking the economic potential of the local area and to help develop new jobs and skills across West Yorkshire. enfinium has long been a major contributor to the Yorkshire & Humber area, with two operational sites currently generating enough energy to meet the needs of 370,000 UK homes and businesses, and a new project currently in development in the Leeds area. I hope this role will help further strengthen the impact we are able to have across the communities in which we operate”.
enfinium is one of the largest energy from waste businesses in the UK and is an industry leader in the conversion of non-recyclable residential and business waste into heat and partially renewable power. enfinium currently has a platform of six (two in construction) strategically located facilities across the UK. Today, enfinium has an annual waste processing capacity of over 2.3 million tonnes, and a total combined electric generating capacity of 265MW (gross) — enough energy to power more than 500,000 UK homes.
