Do you want to make a difference and help us deliver a cleaner tomorrow?

enfinium is one of the largest pure-play waste to energy operators in the U.K. We transform waste into heat and energy that power the nation’s homes, businesses, green communities – and the circular economy. We’ve been in the industry for more than 45 years, and today we have four operating facilities around the U.K., with two more under construction. enfinium is transforming the way our industry serves customers, communities and the environment.

In partnership with the Engineering Trust, we’re proud to be recruiting four Engineering Technician Apprentices, to be based at one of our four operating facilities. These are located in: Parc Adfer (Flintshire, North Wales), Kemsley (Kent), or Ferrybridge 1 and Ferrybridge 2 (West Yorkshire).

This is a 42-month program, combining academic study at Warwick College with first-hand experience at our operating facilities. The programme is designed to give you a core understanding of engineering principles and techniques, before specialising in either instrumentation and control, electrical or mechanical engineering.

You’ll spend the first year of your training living and studying at Warwick College on a full-time basis, with year two of the program training at Warwick College on “block release” whilst simultaneously working and learning with the enfinium team. You’ll spend the final part of the program on site.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have dedicated mentors at the training college and each enfinium facility. You’ll receive regular assessments, guidance, and challenges to enhance your knowledge and put what you’ve learnt into practice.

In between study periods, you’ll spend most of your time working with skilled engineers and technicians at our facilities, playing an integral part in ensuring that enfinium deliver best-in-class environmental, health and safety, and operational performance.

While you’re working at the facility, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Complete fault-finding diagnostics, report findings, and support with resolving facility defects
  • Install new equipment
  • Undertake reactive, planned and preventive maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the energy from waste (EFW) facility
  • Ensure all activities are completed in a safe manner, in line with local site and enfinium health and safety policy and procedures
  • Complete risk assessments and method statements to ensure activities are always completed in a safe manner
  • Maintain equipment such as cranes, rotating plants, weighbridge, fans and motors

We offer an excellent salary and benefits package, with fantastic opportunities for progression in a growing business.

This is a great chance to be a part of a forward-thinking and evolving company and industry.
